Elevator Pitches

Educational Pitch

Plone is a web collaboration and publishing system used by researchers, departments, colleges, and universities.

It's already in use by other universities such as Pennsylvania State University, Washington State, Rice, ...

Educational Pitch 2

It’s funded through the efforts of other universities that use Plone and by developers, and integrators worldwide who make their living extending and improving the software.

And, it’s backed by the non-profit Plone Foundation.

Educational Pitch 3

Plone is less expensive to deploy as compared to many other web publishing systems you may have heard about such as Vignette, Ektron, or TeamSpace since there are no licencing fees and therefore provides a much lower cost of entry.

Plone solves a very real problem for Higher Ed, as it conforms to state and federally mandated guidelines for accessibility.

Educational Pitch 4

And what best about it is that everyone--from secretaries, to grad students, to faculty-- can simply login and hit the edit button to make an update to their web site. It’s really easy to use.
